A Post-Cult Life Meets a Skeptical Shaman
A thought-provoking conversation with Rachel White on The Skeptical Shaman Podcast
Independent Thoughts
Do you consider yourself an independent thinker? A Freethinker?
While the term Freethinker first came to use in the 17th century, the concept seems to have been in existence for quite some time and is just as relevant today. Cambridge Dictionary defines it as: someone who forms their own opinions and beliefs, especially about religion or politics, rather than just accepting what is officially or commonly believed and taught.
The ability to form our own ideas and opinions rather than accepting those of society, education and religion - or even worse, being unduly influenced into mind-controlled groupthink mentality - is one very, very, very important freedom to have.
Have you ever asked yourself how much of what you think, believe and speak is actually your own thoughts and feelings? What about what you love, hate, desire for, buy, consume?
As Americans celebrate our collective independence and freedom tomorrow, I hope we take a moment to reflect on our individual independence and autonomy. Like a 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, our free thought is one spectacular freedom to have.
It’s perfect timing while we’re in this energy of celebrating independence to listen to this in-depth conversation with
